The ashen rain had finally subsided and was packed firmly against the earth in most areas by the unusual snow fall from this winter passed. Delicate steps brushed the new earthen layer as she stepped from the rocky bridge and onto unfamiliar land. A tan marked snout lifted skyward pulling in the lingering scents of those who had recently found themselves voyaging upon this very path. As her skull leveled upon a graceful neck light, honey hues danced across the horizon. This place brought no memory. It was unusual as she never forgot a place she had been and she believed for years that she had touched paw upon every surface of this island. For a brief moment her brow wrinkled and the curiosity of a pup flashed across her feminine features. As quickly as the interest dashed upon her face it left.
Slowly her dove hued frame began to float over mother's hide, ebony claws piercing her flesh with each step out of sheer habit. Between the trees she wove a path, just lightly touching her pelt to the rough bark of each ancient wooden soldier. If any from the west had dared to venture this far she would have loved to share a hint that she had already stepped there first. Something of interest had touched her auds over the winter urging her to take the journey to the east for herself. Other packs run by dogs...powerful dogs. A sly smirk danced across her narrow maw at the thought of alliance with such creatures.
A nearly inaudible crunch within the fallen foliage forced the queen to pause, all four paws found themselves rooted in silence. Radars began to pirouette in search of any further sounds as the unfriendly expression dissipated from it's usual place upon the siren's canvas. Breath slowed as she simply waited for an opportunity to see exactly who or what she was about to come face to face with.
